Siditty: Angry & Black Since 1976: Good Enough to F*ck, But Not Marry

In a previous. What I found odd is that this man claimed to overwhelmingly date black women but when he finally got married he married a latina woman. Another thing that caught me off guard was now that he is divorced he is dating black women but doesn't want a serious relationship two years post divorce. An anonymous commenter on that post made an excellent point there are white men who profess their endless love for Asian women and they seem to have no problems marrying them but for all the talk about white guys who like black women few if any are actually married or have been in serious relationships with them. So why is it asian latinas and other races of women are exotic but yet still manage to be marriage material where as black women are exotic but only good enough to have sex or short term fun with? If your preference and attraction is primarily to black women why is it you would marry another more "acceptable" race of woman to marry? I understand you can't help who you fall in love with but this seems to be an ongoing trend with white men. They claim to love black women but yet most of them never get serious with the black women or if they do it never seems to work out in the end. It is because they do not want black children. When was the last time you saw a white man with black children that were his?I see it often. White men do have children with black women. Of course I know white men/black women couples who have kids so my perception could be skewed. My husband actually wants children and this is from a man when I first met wanted no children at all. My adopted brother and sister oldest biological brother is being raised by his white father and his father was the only one out of four who financially supported and had a relationship with his son. I've dated white men with biracial or black children in the past. Some white men do have an issue with having black kids but for the most part. I don't think this issue is due to the kids scenario but a historical precedent of white men/black women relations. We have the rape scenario from slavery then we have the concept of "splitting the dark oak" during segregation. I think that causes tension between white men and black women relations. I think that being a black woman is considered taboo even amongst some black men. There are all races of men who subscribe to the "anything but black" syndrome when it comes to dating and marriage. I know a few women who had long term relationships with white men who never once met their families and in reality were nothing more than a "dirty secret". I knew of a woman who was in a relationship with a white man for nine years and never once met his family and never once did the concept of marriage come up and after they broke up within a year he was married to a white woman. So I guess my issue is why in 2008 is this still an issue? It can't be a children thing some black women don't want kids some men don't want kids either. As 212542 said in general most men don't marry bw but of course bm aren't getting married either but for some reason the black community and mainstream media only focuses on the woman aspect. Its the American political and racial environment. Its too racially charged out here. Even I who has an openness to dating white men feel like it may be too much to handle out here. I have concluded that after my studies I will have to relocate. This environment is not healthy for BW. Remember my biracial classmate I was flirting with? My number one rule was to always steer away from Black men in the Diaspora. Even they don't want BW. When I lived in the UK. I saw so many Black women suffering with their men being chased by White Women. That to me is unnecessary stress. So my classmate started flirting with this Latina girl and she fell for him. I took for the hills real fast. When it comes to relationships. I simply don't compete. No one is worth you competing for them. And knowing this environment and black men they will pass you up anytime they see something lighter. So that is how I got out of that sticky situation. Also I found myself bothered that this guy didn't want to embrace his blackness yet he came onto me aggressively simply because I was the only other black person in the class. I then realized something disturbing. There are biracial folks that are black when its convinient. And then shift to being biracial when it helps. And he was the type. ( Sorry I am wandering off here )I concluded that culturally a biracial person needs to identify with a particular group. Could be white black or mixed race. You can't have it all. They end up confusing people and getting resented for it. This particular guys racial opportunism was such a turn off. abagond,the answer is. I know of one couple in which I found that acceptable and that was because her then boyfriend's family lived in Sweden but she spoke on the phone with them they sent presents and gifts and were aware of her existence and when the engagement came nine months later there were flights to see and meet the family. Thankfully I have never had that happen with guys I have had any type of "real" relationship. I met my husband's mother and family a month and a half after dating. Part of the issue is that black women who want committed relationships should not settle for anything less. We as women need to ask the hard questions. Very true it seems that for black women the concept of a relationship and it's expectations are low regardless of the race of the men we date. We are supposed to be intimidated by numbers and then go around sad and upset and desperate enough to take anything. We are told we are gold diggers if we want a man on the same level financially and career wise even though white women are expected to do such things. We are told that we are unattractive to society and no men want us,not even black men. We are told that we aren't deserving of love due to our "attitudes" and that is why we end up alone when in fact the reason we end up alone is often because we don't fight for what we truly want. We will settle at times for being a baby momma or the side woman as there is a belief to some in the black community that ALL men cheat.------I guess I have the only group of white men as friends who have married black women and have had children with them...  There are some men out there who wouldn't even think about marrying a black woman but I think comes about b/c of their parents and what they fell their parents would feel about the situation. I don't know I know a few wm and bw couples with kids but I sometimes think my perception is skewed because of my relationship. Pasadena has not been completely silent on the air of go recently. We've had our own little uproar over a development project gone south in implementation; A proposal to acquire mainly minority groups resident in Pasadena's North West. Officials say it is because a partner of the winning bidder disassociated themselves from the leader of the project. That would undergo happened to any communicate leader if they were not welcomed by city government. The leader was not treated honestly and directly some think it is because he was African-American. I think it was trashed because it was a communicate that would displace up a disenfranchised minority neighborhood. The project was thwarted by the Pasadena City Council's method of saying no indirectly in a passive aggressive way. If the developer or leader of the project had a cerebrate for being rejected such as a past history of going over budget that would be a valid. However the City of Pasadena never gave those grounds. In fact there was no real cover cerebrate for performing an indirect rejection of this project leader. The Council never has to be honest as a body. It has developed a technique. It is the beauty of committee consensus. No one has to say no directly and furnish a cerebrate. The Council can simply be mired drink in questions details and process discussions. They can always accuse the City Staff! Essentially the have the cater to wear everyone drink until someone quits. That is what happened in this case. In our town the go is to make a plan against populate of the North West. The idea is to evict residents in two specific apartment buildings and whole families that are perceived to be evil families. Whole minority families that have lived here for years. Their intend is to furnish populate a $10k relocation fee and confine anyone that can be incarcerated. Jailing youth has been the suggested answer from those that are not anonymous and consider themselves Liberal. How is that not related to what is going on in Jena? We are talking about kids youth that are being used to do the dirty work of others. The white kids in Jena are in trouble! They are being taught the language of hate. Don't you care about that? The black kids are reacting to what is happening to them and what has happened to them for hundreds of years in this country. The denial of it is palpable. I think what is going on in Jena is something we have to look at here in sweet beautiful Pasadena. We are foolish to do by the similarities the timing and how we undergo the opportunity to alter things better. It's approve to those elephants in the dwell. There's lotsa reasons to be very very very closely at any big real estate broach especially with Danny Bakewell. BUT you don't go out of your way to disregard a citizen committee recommendation and shoot drink the deal because the broach might not bring home the bacon financially for the developer. Bakewell and the committee members deserved the same treatment the guys who are building the huge ugliness near the instruct displace in east Pasadena got. Week Five: Voices of Cuernavaca and The Impact of Community

This past week was interesting and eventful. We had quite a few excursions that gave us insight on different aspects of Base Christian Communities (BCCs) and the populate involved. Young Frankenstein: No Escaping Destiny

Mel Brooks and the cast and man allegedly had so much fun making this classic comedy that the director decided to add a few sequences just to keep the production going a bit longer. Watching the final results. I can understand why. This is one of the funniest movies ever made and it is also Gene Wilder’s personal favorite. Not only in the same vein as Mr. Brooks’ (1974) it was also most likely inspired by Roman Polanski’s wonderful The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967). The film is a spoof of the old Frankenstein pictures by James Whale and even uses the same lab equipment as a way of recreating the atmosphere of an era that is long gone. Cinematographer Gerald Hirschfeld has done a beautiful job of making the enter look desire those old horror movies; we truly conclude desire we’re in an old go (and village) in Transylvania and the idea to interpret it all in black-and-white is ingenious of cover. The actors’ performances excite every sequence however no be how slight or plain silly it is; Madeline Kahn is hilarious as Frederick’s prissy fiancée. Mr. Feldman has never been funnier as Igor (this is how we primarily remember him). Mr. Boyle got his breakthrough as the giant but friendly Monster. Kenneth Mars is amusing as the robotic nazistic guard inspector and Mr. Wilder is very engaging as the nephew who can’t help going the claim same way as his grandfather. The story is very similar to the one in Frankenstein (1931) but what truly sets it apart is Mr. Wilder and the director’s hilarious dialogue and assail of gags (most of which are definitive hits). I should also mention John Morris who has written a traditional horror advance but also deftly includes an emotional theme that plays a significant part; the filmmakers never drop that the story about Frankenstein is also a story about human emotions. I think the sequence where Frederick and the Monster act “Puttin’ On the Ritz” is the moment in the film where one is prepared to accept the genius of Mel Brooks.
