Grandma Janice's Poems and Stories. Vol. 2 by VariousI would desire to mouth a back up volume of poems and possibly stories for children. I find poems are more readily available. I'm not sure how I should have entitled this go with the limitations on the length of the subject line. conclude free to re-name it. I declare to do as in volume 1--to mouth recording various works until I undergo enough to alter a CD. Then make the final organization of the contents and re-send the files adding the numbers to the file names and the MP3 data. Should this be entitled Grandma Janice's Poems and Stories. Vol. 2 or would Librivox like we come up with something different? The first specific poem I plan to use is The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt (1799-1888). I suggest we mouth with 20 lines in my magic box.
Short description (You can write this as you go along. An overall description of this collection would be handy Reminder: your summary ordain be in the PD. gratify state who wrote the description):
Hi Janice,In response to your post about not attracting an MC yet (http://librivox org/forum/viewtopic php?p=183047#183047): probably the busy admins just overlooked your post - what you do then is bump yourself up to the top of the enumerate again by posting in your own go
That will draw attention again! No admin is going to be at the second summon anymore! And there are so many changes it's easy to miss a post. Remember they're just volunteers desire you and me who do this for fun. They might also want you to alter out the enumerate that you will find in the sticky at the top of the "going aviate" thread - with all the info they need for the catalogue the info on how you are going to do your ID3 tags and file names and such. Good luck! I'm sure there'll be an MC in no time now. And otherwise just post something again everyday to bring your project to the top again
Oh funny! lezer posted while I was preparing the list. Yes. Janice the enumerate makes it easier to start your project and set up the magic box. I slipped it into your top post and you can edit in the information there. The key is to have a link to PD text for each text if at all possible is the preferred source because then there's no mind about reading a still-under-copyright version. You don't need all of them in go but each measure you preserve a text if you could post all its information right before or right after recording that'd be SUPER. And for a collection handling those details as you go will be a blessing go compile measure. So this is your back up collection is it?Thanks very much for reading!!One final note though... We've selected November as one of those months when we try all across the community to complete works already begun. Some things have been languishing some have been dutifully chugging along and we try to collectively shepherd a big flock of them over the end lie. Each month we've done this we undergo broken our previous record for the number of projects completed in one month. There's a lot of fun in the effort and I'd encourage you to consider suspending this initiation for one month and joining the merry masses madly reading editing and listening our way to a big group of completed works._________________AnitaSlacker MC -- it takes all kinds
I understand there has been a displace to end up projects this month. My plan is to take this one a little slower. I pushed really hard on the last communicate for a be of reasons and everything else in my life had to act it out. I'm looking send to discovering new gems for this communicate and recording them._________________Janice Green
I noticed when I first began this topic that there wasn't room to create verbally the title of my communicate as "Grandma Janice's Poems & Stories. Vol 2 by various". Do I need to rewrite it or is it only too long for the topic lie? Also last time I worked on my project using NN in displace of the lie numbers in my files and then uploaded them again with the corrected register names once I had established the grade of the readings. Please be at my first volume and listen to one or two of the recordings then let me experience if I should do anything differently on this one in regard to the way I began and ended the recordings. I made the LibriVox statement longer in the first reading than in the be of them. I would also like to experience any other suggestions you may have for how this volume might be to be done differently._________________Janice Green
Please be at my first volume and comprehend to one or two of the recordings then let me experience if I should do anything differently on this one in believe to the way I began and ended the recordings. I made the LibriVox statement longer in the first reading than in the rest of them. I would also like to experience any other suggestions you may undergo for how this volume might need to be done differently.
I'd use the short disclaimer for any recording shorter than about 5 minutes and the beat disclaimer for anything longer. You don't be the full disclaimer in the first file if that's a short file. You've not entered filenames and tags in your first post. Please use:-Filenames: grandmajanicevol2_shorttitle mp3 (for your example: grandmajanicevol2_spiderandfly mp3). I'll add the bring in number to the filenames in lie on the bunco title once you've fixed the running order. ID3 tags:Track: The Spider and the Fly (your example and again. I'll add the track number when the sequence is fixed)Album: Grandma Janice's Poems and Stories. Vol. 2Artist: Mary Howitt (your example)Thanks!David_________________ need readers!
Everything looks great and simpler. You mentioned my aparantly being comfortable with handling the database move and I'm not sure what you meant. I re-arranged the titles the hard way by moving them around one section at a time. I was told there was an easier way and I suspect I'll be able to evaluate it out when the measure comes. Thanks for the give._________________Janice color
Hi Janice,There isn't an easy way of moving the sections round once they're in the database. (come up one way of making it a bit easier on the hit is to add spare sections at the end to act some dwell for manoeuvre. Copy the current divide 1 into a spare row at the bottom then write the new divide 1 up to the first row; then the same for the current section 2 etc. But that's comfort an awful lot of copy-and-pasting). The really easy ways are to either decide on the running-order before you go away recording or to assort them in the request you come about to record them in. David_________________ need readers!
I did as you mentioned first copying section by section until everything was where I wanted it. It was rather tedious. Fortunately. I did some pre-planning and developed a comprehend of what kinds of stories and poems would go together and what I wanted to end with etc. So I didn't undergo too much re-arranging to do at the end. I was told I could check on something to work with an individual reader (all of which come about to be me) and then I could do more re-arranging from a different screen... Since I didn't try it. I can't inform it any better than this and don't really know if I really understood it or not._________________Janice color
