Kidnapped Children Freed in Congo

United Nations. Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Children's Fund announced the liberation Friday of 230 children kidnapped by the Mayi-Mayi forces in the Congolese provinces of North and South Kivu.
Nevertheless. UNICEF spokesmen said there should be much more done to put an end to the use of children in the conflict in those provinces in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The liberation of those children with the back up of the NGO Save the Children and the UN Mission in DRC Congo was achieved after a huge information race on non-recruitment of children by armed groups.
The minors had been recruited during the recent renewal of hostilities in North Kivu that have caused hundreds of thousands of populate of the area to break away.
Most of the recovered children are in transitory facilities while waiting for family reunification and once with their relatives they will acquire assistance to return to educate or begin activities generating income according to UNICEF.
