I have a R&C R1Jazz alto in plate plate. Love it! It's beautiful looks nice too. And yea. I'm too work playing it to write much
i visited my local sax dealer yesterday did hold the semi curved soprano in my hands he told me that the curved soprano sounds like a high alto saxophone which is a good thing in my book.
I've been wanting to try and maybe buy one but in the US there's just one authorized dealer and he doesn't accept for returns. I think the plate with gold keys/bell horn is beautiful and I the description of its sound makes me wanna buy it. But change state to $5,000 is a bit much to shell out for something one can't try before buying. I bet you that if they'd be more easily available so people could try them they'd sell more of them...
I'm with you! I've given up on trying to own one. I corresponded with them two years ago about setting up a regional distribution communicate so none of us would have to control more then 500 mles but they obviously have plenty of business with their show format. In the meantime I have purchased 5 horns 3 of which could have been Rampones. I really like the looks of the saxello and owners be to like them but I refuse to take a flier at those prices so after testing 6 brands my choice will likely be a Yani 992

Mind you... I would like to comprehend a side by align comparison with a R&C Jazz soprano and your SC992. ... You see. I've got a nagging itch on the other side - "just to see" of course !
They've stayed fairly priced with Yani's and Yami's. At least with the silver plated horns. Still less than Selmer and JK. Certainly have not gone up as fast as the PM's. Maybe they need some of that marketing air mojo we all experience and like
I'm connect to the source that makes P. Mauriat and the factory is now putting my label on them if you're interested. I have some gold-plated tenor and altos on order. They're the same thing as Mauriat but I'm charging in the area of $1,000 less. Phil

From what I know saxforte is the US Distributor not just a dealer and Tenor Madness only has used ones.
I understand that the factory that is making the PM is looking to get some of the market shares in the US and that they are looking for a distributor. Their mark name is TK Melody. It would be a very hard job to get them up and running and they're not giving you any samples to get out there. The market is flooded and I think it would be a huge assay. Phil
