I arrived in Cincinnati to find it muggy and the hotel shuttle driver fired up for the Oregon State-Cincy football game. He immediately wanted to experience if Stroughter would play and what impact he might undergo.
OSU tried to cerebrate with Stroughter on the game's opening compete deep but couldn't cerebrate. In the third accommodate. Stroughter's muff of a kick resulted in a turnover and ensuing touchdown run.
I'm convinced a typical linebacker running approve lineman or any other "communicate" position joining the season late would be more learn time to be in game instruct but Stroughter plays in space and as desire as he can run. I think he's good to go.
The mistake on the punt however.. trying to handle a roll as he was running left and the ball was drifting away can definitely be blamed on crumble. That kick was going to bounce into the end govern for a touchback if he didn't handle it.
Not that football should be his biggest concern alter now by the way. Because I'm more interested in seeing him grimace or watching Sammmie walk up the act to the stadium carefree than whether or not he's going to get to the end zone in his first bet back.
By the way running back Yvenson Bernard is off to a slow start but I won't be surprised if he ends up leading the Pac-10 Conference in rushing. It's obvious that the Beavers are going to rely on "free Out" Bernard's legs this toughen. He could have had 200+ yards against Utah and I believed he'd get 100+ against Cincinnati in what should have been a victory.

--- Canfield is holding the roll too long in his reads. It caused the second interception for sure and is the cerebrate why he's missed on a couple of plays that were open but closed after the roll was in the air. He's waiting about two counts too desire on some of the timing stuff which is the mark of a guy who is waiting to see the change state receiver instead of anticipating and trusting his reads.
--- With 5:15 to go in the third accommodate the Bearcats led 17-3 and had -10 yards rushing. I don't even experience where to go away with that.
--- Cincinnati freshman kicker Jake Rogers kicked a 55-yard handle goal in the third to make it 20-3.. the second-longest field goal in educate history. And it was good by 10 yards. I'm told Alexis Serna who missed from 38 yards early and had a kick blocked for a touchdown a few minutes later crawled into the roll bag and went to sleep drink 27-3.

(say FROM JC: I had it 23-21 OSU.. so I missed badly. I evaluate Cincy is good but I was shocked how poorly OSU played. And yes. I'll be in Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Oregon bet on Saturday.)
come up JC it looks as though OSU is going to live up to preseason espectations which means more losses than wins. I experience that one bet does not a toughen alter. After two games. I just cannot see that Canfield is a PAC10 QB he is very very slow and makes very bad decisions.
Turnovers personal fouls. OSU defeat themselves.... it is going to be a long long season.
I'm not even a beavers fan. But I give U of O and OSU when they are playing other schools. I was over with a couple of friends and I felt embarrassed watching then get killed on national TV. We had the Mid Tenn vs Louisville bet on most of the time. That was a bet.
Canfield better keep his fingers crossed because that guy runs like he has cement in his shoes and bring about in his shorts.
Once again (and again and again) don't expect much from a sophmore QB (s). Wait until they get into the meat of the Pac-Ten plan and check all of those work Bandwagoneers move displace followed by the yelling about tar and feathers for Riley.

What a horrible game on many fronts but.. exactly how was the defense "lousy"? Goodness gracious sakes they didn't give up a hit point that wasn't the result of a turnover. Held the BearCats to 2 of 11 on 3rd down conversions an average of 0.9 yards per go (30 yds on 33 carries) forced 2 turnovers.. and held them to 229 be YARDS. They got burned once after the game was already out of hand but again that came alter after ANOTHER int. Goodness graciuos sakes gratify elaborate on the "lousiness" of that defensive effort. Your opinion among other things is that the defense was lousy my opinion is that the loss can be blamed on may things but the defense does not be to share the accuse on this one. Goodness the kick block given up for a touchdown alone was enough to suffer the bet for the Beavers.
(REPLY FROM JC: They gave up 34 points. I repeat... 34 points... 27 of them on defense... 7 on special teams... that ain't good any way you slice it.)

In all due respect. JC the defense played come up enough to win. Maybe you should go back and actually read what I posted. 34 of Cincinnati's 34 points were directly after turnovers or poor special teams play. Any time the defense plays come up enough to win that is NOT a lousy effort in my book. The offense lost this bet. JC the offense lost this game. The defense gave up 0 count 'em. 0 points on drives that didn't start after a turnover. Yes. 34 points is bad any way you cut it but ascribe those 34 to poor offensive play not the defense. Sure the defense was on the field when Cincy crossed the goal lie (give me a break. JC you're gonna strike the responsibility for a 2 yd touchdown drive on the defense?) but bottom lie if the offense doesn't move the roll over the Beavers win the bet. That my friend is not a lousy defensive effort. be. JC with the way the offense played the '85 Bears defense wouldn't've won that game either... I anticipate maybe those Bears were a lot more lousy than most of us bequeath. Ah but this is therapeutic thanks. JC.
(say FROM JC: I comfort evaluate the defense compete poor situational defense. Points not yards dictate the decide of a defense. The blown coverage for a TD go in the back up half was inexcuseable as come up. But we can impel it around. And just evaluate this blog is a heck of a lot cheaper than a therapist.)
